Patients or couples that are having trouble achieving pregnancy are welcome. Infertility is defined as failure to achieve pregnancy after one year of unprotected intercourse with the same partner. Eighty percent of couples will achieve pregnancy within the first year. Therefore, evaluations are usually not done until after one year of trying to concieve. The following are services I offer to help you get started:

1. Clomiphene citrate (infertility medication that helps to improve the quality of ovulation). There is a 10-20% risk of twins when taking this medication.
2. Hysterosalpingogram
3) Semen analysis (arrangements are made with Infertility Partnership in St. Peters).
4) Laparoscopy in cases of chronic pelvic pain or high index of suspicion for endometriosus.
5) If you do not achive pregnancy within a reasonable amount of time, I will personally refer and discuss your case with an infertility specialist.
