How often should I weigh myself?

Categories:

Although tracking your progress is important, don’t weigh yourself too frequently. Your weight will naturally fluctuate a few pounds everyday so a daily weigh-in, especially at the start of my program, can be discouraging. Stick to a once weekly weigh-in and make sure its the same scale and the same time of day. Dr. T

Health benefits of weight loss

Hey Dr. Tapia…….I forgot about this at my last appointment. Last year at this time, my employer had us all do a health assessment. I don’t have the numbers in front of me right now (I’m going to log in and find them this week) but I do know that my cholesterol and triglycerides were pretty high. Well, they did our annual assessment for 2012 last week, and everything is back down in the normal range!!! I’m really excited about that, and just wanted to share. 🙂

Habits of “normal eaters”

Categories:

Here are the rules of normal eaters:

1) Eat when you are hungry or have a craving for a specific food.
2) Choose foods that you believe will satisfy you.
3) Stay connected to your body and eat with awareness and enjoyment.
4) Stop eating when you are full or satisifed

You too can acquire the skills to become a normal eater through attention, patience and practice!

Give me a call or send me an e-mail if you have any questions.

Is over-eating normal?

Categories:

Is it ever normal to over eat? The answer is definitely YES! People who eat normal will occasionally over eat. For example, its OK to enjoy that prime rib, New York style cheesecake, or french vanilla ice cream when on vacation or during a special occasion. My goal is to teach my clients how to eat normal most of the time. Then, on occasion, you can enjoy something you haven’t had in a long time. Remember, that food is meant to be pleasurable. Call or e-mail me if you have any questions. Also, feel free to share your thoughts. Dr. T
